Portraits of an Unknowable World brings together the recent work of five Latin American artists whose common point is the use of machine learning, an artificial intelligence technique that uses databases to train computers, with the aim of creating generative works of art.

Through the works in this exhibition, the artists invite us to experiment and reflect through virtual reality on the way in which these new technologies are integrated into the daily life of society.

In this way, this exhibition proposes to understand virtual reality as the part of the physical world that is always experienced through the senses, mainly tacticity and vision, and not as an alternative dimension.

The metaverse is designed as a roman crypt that lets the users tour the space and discover the works of art on the way. The scenary was picked as a word-game between the word crypt and the “crypto” world to where metaverses and NFTs are hosted and created.

All artworks on the exhibition are available as NFTs to buy at Foundation.app
