Por Maniobras de un Terceto

The images collected in Por Maniobras De Un Terceto span over 10 years of the artist's personal archive that consist of Clara's family albums. The images, themselves, are existential depictions of organic matter and celestial representations of the female cannon, all of which are themes that seem to personify the artist, herself. However, the book's self-portraits are far from being self-referential: they compose a jigsaw of collages that lead the viewer to understand the author's unification with her past ancestors and, further, realize her position in the universe to the final point of distinguishment.

Piedra-Padre, Universo

Piedra-Padre, Universo explores a narrative traveling through the movements of a geometrically polygonal current that manifests the father's figure, embedded childhood, the weight of our ancestors, and the astonishment of this immense universe. The sensation that emulates the juxtaposition of images in a rhythm of both expansion and restriction takes us to an occult map, toward constellations foreign and familiar exposing an existential drama. The prism spins dorsal from all the trauma, revealing the symbolism of the artist's personal quest toward the shadows and mystery hidden within the universe. The repetition of specific images redounds on multidimensional layers generating metaphors freely. The figure of a father relating to the geology of a rock, restricted, which is dense and heavy but transmutes to be the final inspector of a prism, creating the dialogue of an autobiographical work that circulates in an infinite spiral.

Lenguajes de Luz

This history-defining book is the first of its kind, providing comprehensive and artistic documentation on the history of photography in Guatemala. Its composition holds two principal parts: first is the chronological review of emerging photography dating back from 19th century Europe to Guatemala's contemporary era. The second, composed of thematic chapters, provides a better context for understanding the historical development of photography as a practice of art in our country.

The book is carefully divided into a separate chapter through the curation of a diverse roster of the most prestigious academics and scholars of art in Guatemala. Finalized, the book offers one of the most generous accounts of Guatemalan images and photographs.

With this documentation, La Fototeca seeks to be an acknowledged source for national bibliographical heritage. Additionally, it is desiring to recognize, value, and investigate the work realized by so many Guatemalas utilizing photography as an artistic medium.
