NORMAN MORALES

(Guatemala, 1979). Visual artist, co-founder of the La Torana collective and the Experimental Graphic Workshop of Guatemala. He studied architecture at the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala and engraving at the Escuela de Pintura Escultura y Grabado La Esmeralda, México D.F. His work has been exposed individually in Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico and Spain. He has participated in group exhibitions in museums and galleries in the same countries as well as Cuba, Ecuador, Honduras, Panama, Peru, the Dominican Republic and the United States. He has participated in the VIII Biennial of the Central American Isthmus and in the XV and XVI Paiz Art Biennial, an event in which he won the Gold Glyph as the Colectivo La Torana in the 2008 edition. Individually, he was also the Second Place winner in the Juannio Latin American Art Auction and Honorable Mention at the IX Edition of the International Contest La Joven Estampa, Casa de las Américas, Havana, Cuba, among others. Some of his works are in the Bodegas Otazu Collection, Spain, Pilar Citoler Collection, Spain, Center for Contemporary Art in Malaga, Spain. As well as in the collection of La Casa de Las Américas in Havana, Cuba, the Paiz Foundation, and the Rozas Botrán Foundation, among other private collections in Central America.
