“ORIGEN Y NATURALEZA”

For the project room “ORIGEN Y NATURALEZA” by the Guatemalan artist Norman Morales, the artist shows a series of oil paintings on different materials that invite us to reflect on the coexistence between architecture and landscape, between space and nature, and between identity and history. Some paintings recover spaces from the architecture of our homes as architectural plans that are juxtaposed with the reflection of the bars of a window. Others are almost photographic scenes of urban spaces that make us think about the cultural identity that is formed from the architecture that we inhabit in cities. Others are abstract elements that stem from the artist's imagination and talk about the idea of representing the abstract space of play and reality. Thus, Norman manages to intertwine abstract scenarios with scenes from our daily lives, questioning the origin of our memory and our identity, and how nature plays a very important role in that construction.
